Isina is part of a series of art dolls inspired by the ceremonial costumes of the world's tribes, past and present.
They are for wall display only and not intended as toys.
The inspirations for this piece come from a mix of different cultures. The eye mask is similar to things worn by the Masai and spectacle-like eye decoration in mayan costume. The collar is also similar to those worn by Masai.
The fabrics used are a mix of woven, block printed and plain cottons from India.
Created entirely by hand by Abigail with great love and care, they are highly detailed and beautifully finished.
This is a LIMITED EDITION piece, only 3 will ever be made, each one a unique artwork in itself. As such variation from the photos shown should be expected, as is the beautiful nature of handmade work.
He comes with a small loop sewn into the back of his head to hang him by and measures 41cm height.
