Bamboula is part of a series of art dolls inspired by the ceremonial costumes of the world's tribes, past and present.
They are for wall display only and not intended as toys.

The oversized necklace in this piece was inspired by a beaded belt of the Kuba people of the DR Congo, which are made of glass beads, shells, leather and natural fibres. The shapes in this foxes necklace are made from padded fabric forms, each embroidered with tiny stitches. His leg decoration is inspired by the use of dried natural fibres in many tribal costumes.

The fabrics used are a mix of woven, block printed and plain cottons from India.

Created entirely by hand by Abigail with great love and care, they are highly detailed and beautifully finished.

This is a LIMITED EDITION piece, only 3 will ever be made, each one a unique artwork in itself. As such variation from the photos shown should be expected, as is the beautiful nature of handmade work.

He comes with a small loop sewn into the back of his head to hang him by and measures 36cm height.
